I have freshly installed suse 11.2. My system is a 32 bit system. I have windows 7 in another partition. Please let me know if any other information is required to solve the problem.
eth0 fails while loading. Hence internet does not connect at all.
Its mandatory for me to use suse 11.2 version itself and I am not suppose to upgrade the O.S.
Unfortunately, that is the risk of running an old distro version. The kernel may simply not support your hardware. Upgrading the kernel might be possible, but you’re in a catch-22 with no internet connectivity.
Open a terminal and execute
/sbin/lspci -nnk
Create a text file, and cut/paste the entries pertaining to your network hardware. Save the file to a memory stick, so you can post the output here via Windows. No promises though.
Another possible option for you may be to set up a virtual machine, and run openSUSE 11.2 as a guest. Then the host OS will provide the working ethernet connection.
Edit: This how-to discusses installing 11.3 using Windows Virtual PC, but the same would apply to installing 11.2

You might checkout the Evergreen project which still provides updates for
openSUSE 11.2. See:

I guess if you have no network is is difficult to install updates, please excuse
me for the lapse in thought. You say this is a fresh install so did you check
the media before installing? How do you know eth0 fails while loading?
what is the error message(s), check /var/log/messages.
