installed opensuse 11.1
dhcp works fine
setup static ip can ping out and ping from other machines

can not connect to net with firefox

any ideas

Clues please,what hardware are you using to connect ? ethernet ? wireless ? usb ? what you have tried so far ? disabled ipv6 ?

i have tried everything and so confused!

anyways thanks for responding

some how the etc/sysconfig/network routes

had 19.168.1.1 should be 192.168.1.1

i have same problem network is running…
but no internet

i have ethernet [8168B PCI Etehernt controller ]
i have disabled opv6…

i can easily ping my network

but i can’t browse anything from firefox…

no internet connection

Again, that’s different things in one post.

Most of the time people try static ip’s they forget to enter the DNS’s and the routing. That way computers on the internal network can see and find eachother, but no internet connection. So check your network setup, fill out DNS ip’s, fill out Router address
