Internet Connection Problems after OpenSUSE Install

Hi everyone,

My internection is not working after I just finished installing OpenSUSE 11.1. I have a dsl modem connected to a netgear router first. I then connected my windows and OpenSUSE 11.1 linux box to the router. Windows connects to internet, and Ubuntu on the same network connects to the internet but SUSE will not connect to network. I dont know what the problem is.DSL is not connected directly to SUSE. I need your help Please. I am a linux newbie and any help I can get will be much appreciated.

Frequently this is because openSUSE can’t resolve domain names to IP addresses. It’s often fixed by coding into your network settings:
(a) the IP addresses for your internet gateway (the router’s IP)
and/or
(b) the IP addresses of the name servers supplied by your ISP

Some pictorial illustrations are here [a bit old but it illustrates the point]:
