Internal mic doesn't work in openSUSE 12.3

Hello,

I’m new to Linux, and openSUSE for that matter.

After installing it today on my laptop, I found out my microphone doesn’t work (via Skype, but apparently doesn’t appear in Kmix either - at least my webcam was functional).

After perusing very many different threads and trying some solutions, I gave up hope and decided to address the issue on the forums myself.

I used ALSA to generate this report: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=eae8bf4f85e2a3dc14d85edc24b305bfbc242a84

and hopefully someone on this forum will help me with the solution to my problem.

Thank you

You open up YaST / Software / Software Management search for pavucontrol, check it to be installed and install the application.

Read through the post, install the app and then see if it helps you find your mic.

Thank You,]()
