Interesting review available here :|:
So the two issues I got from the article were Grub 2 & Video systems. Video problems have been with us from the start, which is not really a problem created by openSUSE but Grub 2 this time, just like systemd before, is a new application to deal with. I was just happy as can be with Grub Legacy, but nothing ever stays the same for ever and so Grub 2 is just another thing that must get ironed out. None the least of which, they (the Grub 2 maintainers) need to realize a lot of us speak English here and they need to include the correct English files with Grub 2, which did not seem to happen. Otherwise, the article seemed to be good for openSUSE, except for the comment about excessive updates required after the openSUSE 12.2 installation, due to the time the distribution was put into an application version freeze condition and the real applications versions out there when openSUSE 12.2 was released. One thing is for sure, openSUSE 12.2 is way faster on startup, both because of the new systemd enhancements and because of the new video sub-system improvements and not many comments have been made on that feature of the openSUSE 12.2 release. I am not sure why the new speed has got so little coverage this time around.
Thank You,
