Intel VBIOS Help for IRIS Plus 640 Vbios vs VBIOS Table + How
Issue: i have a dump of the vbios_table using new intel utilities
for uefi ←
i want to know with this dump says i have to insert the “Text Table”? is it
to the acpi_opregion of coreboot ← i do not understand…
I also am trying to determine if theres a way im supposed to get
the actual vbios of the card using this table that was obtained using
debugfs… any help would be appreciated as this is one of the first
cards “Officially” or “Community-Wise” supported for QEMU/LIBVIRT KVM.
With Intel 950GMA I experimented with generating a VBIOS with some Intel embedded graphics tool (IEGD); was able to generate one but I was trying to merge it into the system BIOS and didn’t have success with that.
I haven’t tried dumping Intel VBIOS from Linux, but I wonder if GPU-Z on Windows could dump from Intel UHD 630, and if there’d be any difference between what it dumps from Legacy/BIOS or UEFI (GOP).
With Coreboot, it sounds like it could do whatever it needs to do with Intel VBIOS but you might have to rip it from your dumped system/mobo BIOS. I recall there being something like SeaBIOS having a free VBIOS vs proprietary one on a X230 Lenovo.
im using apple platform (2017 iMac Intel): so its uefi and strictly the undocumented
command-line … so if grub can boot to an efi shell or anything nv var specific on mac i dont think is documented but i cant re-do the computer is the only thing it would have to be uefi specific bios and dumping it the basic way results in fail… but im recompiling a kernel with strict_mem=off maybe thatll help… just either dumping or it says get the vbios_table which it allowed me to do and i dont know if the vbios_table is in one direction or the other supposed to lead to somehow being able to get a dump of the vbios… to pass as a parameter file for qemu.
ok so what ive tested its theres only 1 gpu and someones developed a generic vbios thats supposed to work<- i followed the scripts instructions and it just hits a black screen and i dont know what else to try except the gvt method, ive yet been able to get a useable vbios for the iris plus 640 with 128mb of vram… and ive yet to find clarification on WHERE theyre getting you can do this with a single gpu from nor how theyre particularly doing so noones come out and said "I have an intel integrated but says its dedicated gpu the iris plus 640 is supposed to have its own ram and everything… "
ok well im using the generation 3 guide not the one that
says to link a dual link display adaptor or a thunderbolt display adaptor… and extra usb hub … its just simple install and configure thoroughly has to be AS IT SAYS PERFECT VM and it should work…
