Intel Thread director / 12th gen E-Cores future

Im wondering if anyone has any thoughts or insight into the new E-Cores and P-Cores that intel is rolling out, and when will there be support for it in the kernel.
What are your thoughts about the technology generally speaking?

Hi
Support is already there for Tumbleweed in the 5.16 kernel… If you have such a device can check with lscpu --all --extended. Seems to be a laptop thing, battery life etc.

Support for E-cores in Linus is gradually enhancing.
In Alder Lake Intel uses E- and P-cores for (some) destop CPUs - P-cores are too hot.
You may disable E cores in BIOS (and get slower CPU).
