Intel HD 515 Graphic - hardware acceleration very slow with desktop effects

Hello

I’m using an ASUS Zenbook with integrated Intel HD 515 graphics. But after the recent update my graphic effects are very slow.
I’m using the KDE desktop environment with desktop effects enabled.
But I have tearing in videos, slow frame rates and slow desktop effects. Even scrolling websites are a pain.

I have no idea what happened after the recent update. I’m using tumbleweed with freshest packages.

This is the graphic adapter configuration.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 515 (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Capabilities: [300] Page Request Interface (PRI)
        Kernel driver in use: i915

Which commands do I need to produce some useful information. Until now the only solution is to disable the desktop effects.

Would be very kind if I could get some help.

Thanks in advance.

so i have ASUS UX305CA on TW, plasma with 515 graphics, and i appear to have no problems, so obvious questions:
1 - did you use sudo zypper dup --no-allow-vendor-change to update?
2 - have you changed the graphics from the default modesetting, added grub directives, any other changes?

i dont use desktop effects but have no other issues regards screen/tearing/video etc.
PS there is a painfully slow scrolling issue on some websites using chrome, but this appears a chrome bug.

Thank you very much ndc33,

Seems that I had some conflicts with my packages as I’m using also the packman repository.

So I disabled this one and run another update. Now it seems to work fine again.
I just was thinking that there might be an driver problem. I always get the message that the nouveau driver is not stable. But this is concerning the Nvidia graphics I guess.

So thank you very much. It’s working as usual now:)
