Intel Graphics Problems

I just installed oS 11.2 live kde cd.
I have 1 major problem.
the video card is not detected- it works but no acceleration. it just calls it vga.
usually i can fix it on the firstboot wizard, but the live cd does not have that.
YaST does not have the monitor and display adapter module- but that never worked anyway
little Help?

btw- i installed the firstrun wizard- but nothing happened:(

thank you!!!

Press CTRL+ALT+F1 and login as root, then init 3 and
sax2 -r, once you configure the video you can do init 5 && exit

I may be a geek- but please explain!!
(init5 etc…)

Translation:

Press CTRL+ALT+F1
Then enter “root” as username and your usual password
At the next prompt, enter “init 3”
Then, at the next one: “sax2 -r”
Sax 2 should then pop up for you to make the required settings (don’t worry, it’s the same Sax2 as in the GUI)
Then when you’ve finished with Sax 2 and saved, enter “init 5” at the next prompt. That should take you back to the full graphical user interface (GUI).

Thank you!!!
I am a recent Linux convert- a geek but still learning;)

More importantly: did it sort out your Intel video problem?

One more thing, if you installed the system from the Live CD, first
run zypper dup as root, the Live CD may not have all video drivers
