hey guys Im a little new to linux, but know enough to get around a little, and have been able to figure out a few things for my self… but for the life of me i cant seem to get the 3d effects working under linux. currently I am running opensuse 12.1 x64 Gnome on a Dell vostro 1220.
and it uses intel integrated gfx, GM45. I was after the wobbly and other effects that you get with compiz, but i cant seem to enable opengl or something, and i cant seem to find anything from trolling google.
thanks.
Hi and welcome to the forums
Alas there is no more compiz in the default openSUSE GNOME 3.x install, hence no wobbly windows etc.
Or are you trying to run a different Gnome desktop?
Im just running the standard desktop… wanted a little more eyecandy… I have gotten just about everything to work on here… the extra details would of been a nice addition…
Hi
Well GNOME 3.x is still a work in progress : Check out the extensions;
https://extensions.gnome.org/
You can enable/disable extensions via the tweak tool of on the web
page on the ‘about’ tab.
Here is the GNOME shell cheat sheet
