intel 945 GM issue on tablet pc

Hi,

after days of trying and upgradig to Opensuse 11 I’am daring to write here and ask for help. I am stumped at all.

I try to switch my Fujitsu-Siemens (FSC) Lifeboo P-1610 to Linux.
The only problem is the display.

According to Fujitsu P1610 Graphics Card – Intel 945GM Suse should support the display. I followed all instructions but it stays at 1024x768. :mad:

My “/etc/X11/xorg.conf” contains this

my /etc/sysconfig/videobios contains the lines

VIDEOBIOS_PATCH="yes"
VIDEOBIOS_PARAMETERS="58 1280 768"

and this works because the output of “915resolution -l”

but SaX2 constantly keeps 1024x768 resolution

and this doesn’t surprises because “xrandr” outputs:

I tested many other tips on the internet but nothing helped.
So could anybody give me a hint or even tell me the right terms to google for?

kind regards

Hey,

the problem is solved.
After Hendrik gave me the Lifebook I tried a lot of different possibilities to configure the resolution. The most promising method of resolution i traced was to change the VIDEO BIOS with 915 resolution.
But searching for the problem in the configuration was the basic error…
To cut a long story short: I finally checked the BIOS for wrong settings and tried to set “Compensation” in Advanced->Video Features to “Enabled”. Now it works…

with kind regards

Bastian Neubarth
