Intel 82845G /GL

I’m having a bit of a problem trying to install Suse 11.1 from the live Cd. On my ole Gateway machine.
It has an Intel I82845GL on board video card which is no longer supported I guess by Suse 11.1 Is there any way around this problem. The Live CD boots to the Point of where X should start then stalls. with just a blank Screen or a screen filled with vertical lines.

anyone point me in the right direction?
I know this machine will work on linux as it’s work with some old distros.

On the initial boot screen there is a list of options using the F keys at the bottom of the screen. Hit F3 to choose the resolution and set it to 800X600.

Thank you for the suggestion, but have already tried 800x600 and Vesa also. only thing that does it change the pattern and color of the bars on the screen.

Suse 11.0 boots fine , may have to just use that version , but kind of wanted 11.1
