Intall Problems with fglrx one-click-install

Hello I had some problems with the one-click-install for my ATI Radeon HD 5450. Firstly, it seems to have broke the Gnome 3 Desktop as it reverted. Also, I do not think it was properly installed since the Catalyst Control Center would not let me change my resolution to anything sane (it was supposedly displaying in 4000x4000). I am running openSUSE 12.3 32bit. So, I removed fglrx, and now I have my desktop back to normal. My resolution is now 1024x768, and I need it to be 1400x900. Is there anyway I can get the latest version of Catalyst installed on openSUSE or at least something that works? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello again

I did some more searching and, I found out that I needed some things enabled in “Software Management” to install the latest driver:

   Development

[X] Base Development
[X] Linux Kernel Development
[X] C/C++ Development

I am not sure exactly went wrong with the one-click-install though. Everything is working fine now, and long live openSUSE.

Happy to hear of your success. Installing and running openSUSE is a learning experience for all users.

Thank You,
