So I would ask this on Zimbra’s forums, but it seems more of an OpenSUSE question (and my friend pointed out that they would be of no help to me).
When Zimbra checks if I have the required software, it shows this:
Checking for prerequisites...
FOUND: NPTL
FOUND: sudo-1.8.2-2.1.2
FOUND: libidn-1.22-7.1.2
MISSING: gmp
FOUND: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
Checking for suggested prerequisites...
FOUND: sysstat
MISSING: sqlite does not appear to be installed.
The SQLite is installed and it’s saying no to that, but that’s not really important. It wont let me proceed when I try to because it says GMP isn’t installed and is required.
I checked and I do have GMP installed (GMP 5 and GMP 3), and it doesn’t work even if I have only one installed at one time.
I’ve seen Zimbra questions posted here, but none were helpful.
And I saw somebody say GMP 4 was required, but it seems GMP 4 has fallen off the face of the Earth.
So if you know anything, please help
Thanks in advance.

You do not say, but I assume you are running a ./configure. You do know
that you need the corresponding “-devel” packages?

what parts and pieces named sqlite does zimbra want/need/expect?
i ask because my YaST Software Management shows i have only 3 pieces of
sqlite installed, and 27 packages are not installed.
so, when you look at the zimbra documentation, what parts/pieces of
sqlite does it say needs to be installed…exactly?
when you have found out exactly what zimbra needs and where how it needs
it, THEN you will be ready to install sqlite to meet zimbra’s needs…
now, back to gmp: exactly what parts of gmp are needed? i ask because
i see i have 4 out of 78!!! pachages with ‘gmp’ in its name…so, when
learning what zimbra want of sqlite, also seek more info on what it
wants in the way of gmp support!
when you have done both of those things then you may not need to ask any
questions here… or maybe you do, so come back and let us know how it
goes…
wait a moment: are you really using openSUSE in a DataCenter??? are you
using openSUSE, or SUSE Linux Enterprise?? if the latter you are in the
wrong forum…tell us what you are using, if you are not certain do this
in a terminal:
If this is the binary Zimbra installer and you really have openSUSE and
not SLES you have a problem since the corresponding versions of the
components Zimbra wants are clearly not the same as in SLES.
If you are using the open source edition of Zimbra I recommend you
download the sources and compile it yourself.
If it is not the open source edition but the commercial one you have
support by zimbra - contact them.

And that’s your problem since there is no binary installer for openSUSE
but only for SLES.
Fetch the sources and compile it.

Just to add what I would really do if I where you and would not want to
jump through the hoops compiling a complex system.
Use Virtualbox, Vmware or your favorite virtualization solution on the
openSUSE 12.1 machine.
Install CentOS 6 64 bit as virtual machine, download the binary Zimbra
for Red Hat Enterprise 6 and install it in CentOS.
You are done and you have a clean dedicated virtualized Zimbra server
running on openSUSE 12.1 without tinkering.
