Installing XChat

Hi Folks,

Need a lil’ help…

I downloaded the latest version of X Chat for Open Suse 10.3, but when I go to configure it, it said there’s no C+ compiler.

So I then installed gcc c+ compiler from the DVD, but then I get the following message:

configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I don’t mean to sound completely out of the loop here, but what am I missing and what do I need to do to get configure to work?

Thanks in advance,

joe :slight_smile:

As a rule of thumb, if you have the following installed, compiling is easy
1 ) gcc/gcc++
2 ) kernel sources
3 ) make.
Also, have you tried Webpin to find it ?

Andy

oh.

run yast2 sw_single and check there pattern base development … and whatever else you want …
