Installing X-Plane 10 on opensuse 12.1

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I have not been able to find the answer in any other posts so thought I’d begin this one.

Basically I really like the Opensuse 12.1 interface and would like to continue to use it. The problem I am having is with installing X-plane 10 which came out recently. It has an installer that you download from their website for Linux. They have an old post about how to install it on Opensuse. I have set the .run file to allow as an executable file but when I double click on the installer nothing happens. I have tried running it from a terminal too with no luck. I have read that others have got it to work on linux but after hours of searching have come up with nothing.

Does anyone have any advice they could give me and/or has anyone here had success installing X-plane 10.

Thankyou everybody.

Andrew.

I haven’t had success (yet), but X-Plane 10 is very picky about the
hardware - video card in particular.

What is your system’s configuration?

You might also talk to the X-Plane folks directly; I did when I pulled
the demo down (I’m an X-Plane 9 owner who was looking to upgrade) and
they were extremely responsive.
