Installing Windows game on 11.1

Hi
I am trying to install Combat Arms on openSUSE 11.1 (KDE 4). I have Wine installed and I open the file manager and I go to the directory for the .exe file (z:/home/kevin/CombatArmsDownloaderV24.exe) and nothing happens when I double click on the exe. I try to right click and select open but then the File Manager just refreshes. I have tried using Dolphin to go to the file and “open with…” Wine, but it just opens Wine’s file manager to that directory and it takes like 2 full minutes to do.

I believe that I would also have to install DirectX, would I have to do that first? I would think I would some kind of error though!

Any ideas on getting this installed would great, even another way than using Wine!
Thanks

also check the wine website

Haven’t tried personally, but according to the Wine appdb page here, the installer will hang if you don’t have ie6. Also, wine needs to be in win98 mode.

Good luck.

This page has better step-by-step installation instructions…

I saw one of those before but didnt notice that comments! Thanks

I will try all those suggestions later tonight;)
