Installing Pinnacle PCTV 330e USB DVB-T receiver

last year I’ve been gifted with a Pinnacle PCTV 330e USB decoder for DVB-T.

It works (obviously) fine under Windows, but on my laptop I use openSUSE 11.2 for 99% of time.

It’s been a year I’m trying to make it work, but now that Naples switched off analog TV I decided to try again after upgrade to openSUSE 11.2.

I have followed many tutorials, each one suggesting completely different procedures.
I would like to start from scratch now.

I can currently tell you that I have installed dvb and many tv-related packages. I tried configuration from YaST/TV receiver but when I try to scan for programs I get an error message about YaST being unable to open /dev/vbi1. I tried to hardlink vbi0 (that I have) to vbi1 but same result.

Kaffeine shows me no possible TV tuner, so the combo box is empty and grey.

I also tried scan command but it’s unable to find /dev/dvb directory as it doesn’t exist.

Can somebody help me start from scratch?

Thank you in advance
