installing new kernel/unstalling graphic card

I want to try out the new kernel. But have no clue how to install it. I went here to download it. I download the pack. It in my tmp folder for now. But I have no idea what to next.

And I want to uninstall my graphic driver(nvidia. Not the graphic card but the software that I install to get my graphic card working.) I manually installed it. For now I want to uninstall it. But don’t know how to do it.

I’m using suse11.1/KDE4.1.3

kernel installation is not trivial. You have to configure, compile and install.
Before giving further instructions for doing this, can you please tell me why do you want to install a new kernel?

if install the new kernel your driver goes too.

have you considered using the repos to bring in a newer kernel
