installing minimal openSUSE using openSUSE DVD

is it possible for developers to add an option to openSUSE DVD to enable users only install necessary packages and software? and then whenever users want add additional software use that DVD?

  1. there is a “Text only” install and that is rather minimal. Remember that nobody can guess what you need as a minimum. What is “necessary packages and software”? The minimum includes the kernel I assume (and you can even strip down the kernel), but almost anything else you can leave out depending on your needs (think of an embedded Linux).

  2. It is of not much use to ask something from the developers on these forums, because we are users like you, not developers.

Users can not install anything, only root can. And no, you can not limit
what root can install, this is an open platform.

As mentioned the simple way is the text install.
You can add application you want after.

Or you can modify it if you want some addition before
proceeding with the installation.
