Installing Leap 15 error

Hi,
I was trying to install openSUSE on my new laptop, but installator stuck at “Starting hardware detection”, I waited about 2 hours and nothing was done. I think that in could be because I have got NVIDIA graphic card, that was problem when I was trying to install other linux distros. I was trying to change installation resolution, but on my installation menu there wasn’t any option for it. F3 didn’t work too. Help!

It is common for laptops with NVidia to require typing nomodeset on the “Boot Options” line before proceeding with installation. This may result in a black screen when booting an otherwise successful new installation. It may be possible to avoid the black screen problem using detailed package selection and checking the box by the package named Plymouth to taboo it, which prevents its installation. Reading through https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/531453-Installing-openSUSE-Leap-15-0-and-bumblebee-on-hardware-with-NVIDIA-Optimus-graphics before proceeding may be helpful.

What is the make and model of your laptop?

What do you mean with adding nomodeset line?
My laptop is ASUS ROG Strix GL703GE. Should I do exactly the same line in the link you sent?

In the image I gave an URL to when you put the highlight on “Installation” instead of “Boot from hard disk” an input line appears where you can type nomodeset.

My menu looks a it diffrent, because I have got UEFI :
https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/startup/html/book.opensuse.startup/images/install_boot_uefi_osuse.png

Hit the E (as it says in the lower left) to edit that Install entry, scroll down to the line that begins with “linux”, hit the END key to get to the end of that command line (it wraps), type a space, then add:

nomodeset

Thank you!
I have successful installed openSUSE on my laptop, but when I started it, my screen had very bad resolution and I can’t change it in settings. What I should do now?

nomodeset forces the use of default drivers without good resolution is only meant to get you to a point you can install the proper proprietary drivers you need for your hardware.

Since a laptop and probably using hybrid (Intel+NVIDIA) GPU you will need bumblebee.

follow instruction exactly

I realised than when I run recovery mode resolution is good, is it changing something?
