Installing kdenlive under 12.2 64 bit - Conflicts

I am trying to install kdenlive for video editing. My OS is openSUSE 12.2 64 bit and am trying to install from Packman repository through YAST. I get the following message:

“kdenlive-0.9.2-5.24.x84_64 requires libmit5-modules but this requirement cannot be provided.”
It then informs about uninstallable providers for the module under packman.inode.at-suse. Thereafter there are four options to resolve the conflict one to replace libavutil51-0.11.1-3.1.2,x86_64 with libavutil51-0.11.1-3.1.3,x86_64, two and three not installing kdenlive(!), fourth to install a broken program ignoring some dependencies.

The first option appears OK as it involves updating of a “av” module from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3. But I don’t know what else could be affected by this. Please advise.

do this:

# zypper lr -d

Then copy & paste it here.

When I installed kdenlive I got the same kind of messages. I can’t remember the exact messages, because this was some months ago. I chose the option to replace the av library and kdenlive works (at least with the codecs I use).

Pick option 1.

Hi,

Thanks. Took option 1 and the install went through fine. Only need to run the application before I can sit back, but that is likely to take some time.
