Installing KDE

I have installed SUSE 11.3 with XFCE desktop, wish to install kde. How do I do that.

Install the package group through Yast. Yast > Software Management > Package Groups (tab) > KDE Desktop.

Good Choice…to install KDE 4.5 (lastet stable version of KDE) will be need to upgrade your repository:

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/news/tech-news/446152-kde-4-5-stable-repo-now-available.html

It points to a conflict. I will add a repo and let Yast do its thing.

I cant add repo for some reason.

What happens when you try to add it?

Open Software Repositories, delete all kde repositories add it then on “especify URL”

Repository Name: KDE_Release_45
URL: Index of /repositories/KDE:/Release:/45/openSUSE_11.3

then install KDE!!
