How would I go about installing KDE XFCE 12.3 for Opensuse? Thanks!
What now? KDE or XFCE?
Both are included in openSUSE.
The easiest way to install either of them would be to run YaST->Software Management, click on “View”, choose Patterns and activate the corresponding Pattern in the list on the left side…
What I want to do is something really neat I saw with KDE 3D. It makes your workspace into a cube and 3D, but you need XFCE installed under it (I think). So I went to Software and looked up KDE and found KDE 3D Graphics creator. When I install it, nothing happens, and I cannot find KDE. Every install (except Skype and Dconf) doesn’t register on my Activities/Applications… Where are they?
So you are running GNOME now?
KDE is a completely different Desktop Environment, and XFCE yet another one.
I already told you how to install those.
If you use KDE you just need to press Alt+F11 (I think, it could be Ctrl+F11 as well) to get that desktop cube, it looks like this: https://www.google.at/search?q=kde+desktop+cube&client=firefox-a&hs=lky&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=wruPUq_pOYistAaouYE4&ved=0CFIQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=629
I am not aware how to do that in GNOME.
But maybe it’s compiz you are looking for?
If my understanding is right, you want xfce with the kwin effects.
If you are now running with xfce, just install kwin.
and replace xfwm4 with kwin at startup then you get the kwin effects under xfce.
Edit.
Now I get it, just disregard this post, you’re looking for a different thing.:\
