installing creative x-fi driver

I am trying to install the above driver for my Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic card and its not compiling.

I run ./configure which appears to go normally. But then when I try make I get:

make: *** [all] Error 2

Whats going on?

(Im using konsole with su)

could you post the complete log of what happens when you try ? “error2” is just part of it,it’s what is before that which is important.

Andy

aplologies for not getting back sooner. I have just downloaded the beta driver, is that the one you are trying to compile ? If so,there is no need. there is a shell-script in there which you run as root to install the drivers. If you aren’t using beta drivers, could you provide a link so i can have a look & get back to you ?

Andy

If you mean the “installer” shell script, I did that too and it came up with the same errors.

very strange, i installed it on my p.c. with no errorrs, albeit i don’t have that soundcard. All i can think of,is, make sure you have kernel-sources,gcc/gcc++, make & kernel headers installed. Maybe someone else can “chip” in with some help
