Installing an extra language

Just did a re-install of Opensuse 11.1 KDE4.2.2 from a re-packaged live-cd. During instlation i chose Dutch as the language to see what the translation is like.
It turns out that it is unimpressive. I thought i be able to switch to english easily enough but i can figure out how.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried YaST>System>Language?

> It turns out that it is unimpressive.

maybe you have discovered where you might ‘payback’ to open source
software…

ugh, of course, thanks for that

A fair point, though another problem is that i’m simply so used to using an English OS that i have a hard time finding things in Dutch.
Still, where would i go to help with translating?

if there is a particular part your like to help with, i’d start at
google…which is how i found
http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/SUSE_Linux_Localization
by searching on
help translating SUSE linux

a different search value should turn up more specialized areas like
(say) KDE, etc…

To get back to the default language, use the Sysconfig editor in Yast and replace all LOCALE’s . In your case this is nl_NL, replace the values by en_US, reboot and everything should be foreign again…
