I’ve tried to install opensuse in a dual boot with xp. I’ve got an extended partition with root home and swap and primary partitions for xp and boot.
The installation freezes at 92% while installing the bootloader, I’ve tried installing from cd and from usb, with or without boot partition and nothing changed.
checksums are fine, problem also happened with different iso files, 32 and 64 bit versions and also version from linux live usb creator (32 bit version).
I runned the check media option but I really don’t know what info I should get from that. Right now I have only liveusb version of the iso, no cd.
I don’t know if it helps but I’ve found another thread where somebody had the same problem and he fixed it by updating to the newest kernel version via the Kernel:HEAD repo.
I don’t know if this can work for me as well but I don’t really know how to get this newest kernel and also if it’s possible to modify my liveusb disk to include this new kernel.
