Installation using other distro's live cd (and how to do it remotely)

Hello,

I don’t know if I say it correctly. I didn’t find out how to do that, that’s why I ask.

  1. I would like to learn how to install openSUSE using other distro’s livecd (eg ubuntu).

  2. How can I do that remotely (I guess using ssh).

Can someone either explain or point me some links to read.
Thanks

I’ve never read of anybody doing it, nor do I see any reason to do it.
Thus I’m afraid you will have to find out how to do it on your own. New
uncharted territory.

At a guess, you’ll need to use the LiveCD to start a network install,
probably involving creating an ISO in a file then mounting and chrooting
do it. But that’s all just random speculation on my part with no thought
at all … YMMV

Untested and not sure whether it will work:
SDB:Remote installation - openSUSE

I’ve done what you’re asking for a few times with Gentoo. But this is another cup of tea because Gentoo offers stage3 tarballs with the needed environment and it is does not matter from what medium the installation is done.
