The one that 42.2 had in this respect re. dutch translation has been fixed. By me. It blocked the installer because there was a double %% in the language file. But this case could be sort of the same, yes. I’ve upgraded Leap 42.2 -> 42.3, performed a clean install and was not bitten by this translation bug.

i don’t understand well.
have you a solution ?
if yes can you detail your solution according to do a french update from 42.2 to 42.3.
Just an observation based entirely on circumstances and not based on close inspection
This all sounds like Translations was integrated in a fragile way and the whole architecture should be re-evaluated as to whether it can be applied at a later stage so that it won’t get in the way of things like upgrades. For the life of me, I can’t immediately think of why system functionality should require any kind of translation, to me translations should be as interchangeable and decorative as labels, not involved in anything deeper(Ordinarily software code will continue to function no matter what the text is in a label).
Lenovo T410
Leap 42.2
Harddisk with 3 partitions (1: swap / 2: root with btrfs / 3: home with xfs)
Found following solution for upgrade:
It seems that the (btrfs-) structure of partition 2 (root with btrfs) has a problem.
(And “searching for system files” can not resolve this)
Boot from dvd in Rescue mode
Check and repair the btrfs partition => “btrfs check --repair /dev/<partition with btrfs>”
reboot
Now i can upgrade to 42.3
For a new installation remove (all) partitions on harddisk. The “searching for system files” routine can not find any files and continues the installation.
Maybe someone else will notice something I don’t…
I don’t see any problems in your first four screenshots… Everything looks normal to me, your loop device was successfully created and mounted the CDROM image.
Only the last screenshot describes a problem, and it’s your Xorg.conf configuration. It fails to set up your display correctly.
So, I don’t know why your upgrade is trying to use an Xorg.conf file, is this the way you set up your 42.2 system(before upgrade)? If so, why?
One possible fix if there is no known good reason to be configured this way would be to rename or move the xorg.conf file to another location and try running your system without it, then upgrade.
Nowadays, most of our current Desktops do not require an Xorg X Server unless for graphical remote access from another machine. If this is the case, then disabling (maybe even stopping the Xorg X server in /etc/sysconfig) should be considered because it can be re-enabled/re-configured again after the upgrade.
BTW - Although you may <think> that your problem is the same as the others in this thread, that’s not certain.
Better to open your own new Forum Post thread than append to another.
Thank you for this solution. After this check and repair (there was an error in the file system) I have installed Leap 42.3 without any problem.
Strange that, even when you choose a new install, installation hangs on an error in the file system. But that partition will be reformatted, so an error will not be important.
