Stefan,

I’m not sure what the problem is. Can you describe it a little more detailed?
What is your native language?

Uwe

You could try the Failsafe boot from the menu, see if that gets you in to the desktop.

But as Uwe said: More info, clearer in your language, we can translate it with google if needed. Just tell us what language it is in case we can’t identify it;)

Hello.
Sorry for the little details.

So I installed opensuse 11.1 64 (4 g because I ram) on my Asus laptop k50ij. Everything goes very well, but when it reaches the final, and must enter the linux screen stays black. I waited an hour, two, three … but nothing. I restarted, and if equally into opensuse problem if Failsafe go into, but I do not think it is right to go every time in Failsafe. I gave one to opensuse and repair the problem is the bootloader (at least so say there). but after giving up equally Repair

If Failsafe works, use it.
I’m still having trouble understanding your reply.

Sorry for my English.

The problem is that after i install the opensuse the screen stays black and nothing happens. My point is that when a try to fix the opensuse tells that the bootloader has problem, i fix him but the problem persist. And when i try to use windows vista is not working any more.

Have you guys have the same problem? anyone?

But do you get a grub menu?
If you do follow this:

Pause the boot by moving the down arrow, then back up to the default boot. But now press backspace, it should delete any text where you can see VGA=…etc

Remove all text and now type just the number:
3
and hit enter

at the login type your user name and then password
now type:
su
then the root password

now type this:
sax2 -r -m 0=vesa
(N.B. the 0 is a zero not a letter)
now reboot: type: reboot
if you don’t get a gui login
login as user at cli and try this at the cli
startx

Thank you caf4926

I am not an expert on linux, i am learning now opensuse, i headed on my other laptop.

I will use for now Failsafe.

One question: When i choice to enter in Opensuse and not in Failsafe apair to enter with user and password, I add them but how do i enter in Gnome?

Thanks in Advance
