Installation loops!!

Help!!
I have downloaded OpenSuse12.1 and am trying to install the DVD. Everytime i choose Installation from the first screen the pc reboots and restarts the installation from the begining.

You mean you boot from the DVD, choose Installation, but then it reboots?

Did you try doing this:

Yes i did but that just does the same…reboots and goes back to the same screen

did you md5sum check the iso you downloaded, before you burned the
install disk? what md5sum did you get, and exactly which iso did you
download? what program did you use to burn your disk…if k3b do not
trust the md5sum it calculates.

tell us about your hardware…does it meet the requirements of
12.1,http://en.opensuse.org/Hardware_requirements

if you download and boot from a gnome or kde live cd do you see the same
symptom?

OK
Press F5
Select SystemV from the options there and hit enter twice

Pleaseyou guys need to bare with me…this is my first Linux install.
I have checked the hardware and its good.
not quite sure how to do the md5sum and im not sure where to select the F5 and to then select SystemV.
Pleaase help i would really appreciate it.
Im more used to SCO Unix then any version of Linux

sorry and i used InfraRecorder to create the DVD

I’m not 100% sure the F5 option is there on the DVD and I can’t just check right now
If it is, you just boot the DVD to where you select ‘Installation’ but wait there and press F5 on your keyboard (If the option is there you should see it when you press F5)

Another option for you is to try holding down SHIFT as you boot the DVD and eventually you should arrive at a linux: text prompt
Where you should now type: linux
and hit enter

Another alternative would be to try a live CD
It may behave differently
