Folks:
We are having issues installing OpenSUSE via the Net CD as well as having the LiveCD for v11 not coming up on a SuperMicro 7044H-T unit with an LSI MegaRAID SAS 8704ELP.
With Ubuntu and Gentoo (yes, we are sadists ) we normally just add in to the grub boot parameters “ide=nodma nodmraid dolvm nodhcp” and they come up to their respective installation screens or LiveCD screens. We have tried various combinations of this with OpenSUSE Net and Live CD (AMD64 versions for the 64-bit arch), but keep getting “An error has occurred.” Going between the various consoles, we have noticed some SquashFS (or was it CramFS) issues faulting out, but we cannot scroll through the screen to find out specifics.
Thoughts, comments, and/or suggestions are quite welcomed. Also for reference, the same happens with SLES v10, v10SP2 and CentOS v5.x oddly enough.
Thanks in advance. Also as a polite disclaimer, this is not meant to be seen as a flame of OpenSUSE vs. other distros since we have tried others as noted in this posting. We have a specific need for SLSE/SUSE eventually for a client on this hardware.
