Installation freeze

Hello guys.
i bought an laptop and tried install opensuse 42.2 but always freeze in driver realtek r8169 (I found a similar problem in this forum: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/5eq008/stuck_at_green_loading_bar/ ) but I waited more than three hours and nothing happend. Tried install Centos 7, but cant start graphical install, only text, and the install shows a lot of 0006487: CPU#0 stuck for 67s error.
So, i downloaded Suse Entreprise Desktop and installed perfect. But i have a graphic card geforce 960M, and if I try install nvidia driver i had a white screen error. But with NOUVEAU driver, all works perfect.
It can be a HW problem?
laptop ASUS rog ZX50VW with i7 6700HQ, geforce 960M 2gb, 8gb ram and 1tb HD.
PS: Sorry for my english.
PS2: The laptop comes with Windows 10, and shows a lot of BSOD driver errors. Tried to upgrade drivers, BSOD stoped, but i got Randon freeze all the time.

Sounds to me like you either have a problem with bad RAM or a failing HD. Check both. Also, could be heat-related, check that air passages are not clogged and the fans are running.

Oh, I just noticed:

… bought a laptop …

If a new one, still check the RAM & HD in case they are faulty.

Thx for reply
I tested both, HD and RAM and its OK, no error at all.
So, i tried uninstall gforce driver, on Windows and Linux SLE, and Works perfect. So, in reinstall geforce driver, and freeze the system.
I think its a HW problem. I tried a lot of drivers, and all broken the OS.

You can’t use the NVIDIA driver as such on Laptops with hybrid graphics. ie Intel + NVIDIA GPU you must use bumblebee

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee

Uninstall normal NVIDIA driver and follow the instructions exactly

Thanks for the tip. I never readed anything about this. I just downloaded the nvidia 960m driver for linux 64 (version 375.39.sh).
Will try this night and post the results.

Just one thing: i use SLE, becouse i cant install opnsuse (realtek error as i said before), and SLE dont have “Community Repositories”. What should i do?

This is openSUSE forum ask on the SUSE forum

Hmmm. If you are willing, why not try again to install Leap?

First, check that you have the latest BIOS Firmware from your manufacturer. Some of your problems might be solved by that.

If Hardware problems persist in the Windows side after that, I would demand they replace the laptop with one that is not faulty.

Second, when running the install, do not set up the networking, skip that until after the install. Also, of course, do not run any online updates while installing – you cannot anyway, if you do not have networking set up, but I occasionally find that running those while updating can cause install problems. So, I always leave updating until after the install is done.

Once openSUSE Leap is installed, your Realtek will probably be installed, or can be addressed. If it is installed and you have networking, run your updates.

If Realtek is not running yet, just come back here and ask for further help getting the Realtek working.

You then will have the Community Repositories available, as well as a lot of support here.

FYI: That is the way I would approach it on my own machines.

Hi
You can raise a bug if you have a registered SLE install, there is also
package hub for SLE (community repos care of openSUSE Tumbleweed and
backported to SLE) https://packagehub.suse.com/#features

Anyway, if SLE is installed head over to https://forums.suse.com same
username/password and create a new thread on your issues if on slef
support and will see what can be done…
