Installation DVD boots into the GRUB CLI,no idea what to do

Hi,

I downloaded the OpenSUSE 13.2 64bit installation DVD and burned it. When I try to boot from it, it presents me with the GRUB CLI. When I entered “boot” in there(the only command that made any sense to me to try), it wrote back “You must load the kernel first” or something along those lines. I have no idea how to do that or why wasn’t it done automatically. No installation guide mentions this, you’re supposed to get a fancy menu right off the bat. I tried burning a second DVD from another download just in case the first one was damaged. Still no dice. Yes, I did the checksum on the ISO. I’m using Ubuntu 14.04 on HP ProBook 4340s, recently installed over Win8.

I’m Just guessing here, but sounds like a UEFI Problem perhaps , try disabling secure boot in your bios if you can. and try again.

Also be sure you are booting in the right mode. Assuming an EFI install be sure you are booting the installer in EFI mode

Please type “set” in grub cli and post screenshot (photo) of screen. If it scrolls down, use “set pager=1” and make it two pictures  Upload to http://susepaste.org/.

If you use EFI - is secure boot enabled?
