First time posting, moving back to Linux now that I have a desktop again. I have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3656, I was able to install Ubuntu 14.04 just fine after changing bios from uefi to legacy. However when I try doing the same to install suse it loads this weird install screen, unlike any of the examples…looks more like a bios setup. Can anyone help me out here? I am using the latest image of leap, booting off a flashdrive.
Have no idea with out seeing the screen or at least what is says.
Are you sure you boot the installer in legacy mode??
To be perfectly honest it is much easier to deal with installing in EFI mode on EFI machines. Multiple OS is handled much more gracefully in EFI But still if you can handle MBR booting then it certainly possible and normal to install that way also and you should never ever mix boot modes with multiple OS
Is this going to be a dual-boot with Windows? If so, which version and how is it installed.
Or, is it going to be Linux only?
