I made OpenSUSE USB boot stick from Gnome .iso with UnetBootin (in fact several of them).
When trying to install from the stick it stops after a minute with message “Failed to mount RW root filesystem”.
The computer is Acer Aspire One with 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB SSD-hd. It has has several linuxes, all installed successfully also very recently, but I am trying to change to OpenSUSE because of permanent wireless problem, it has worked only in very few installations which I have not been able to repeat (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS).
Hello all, just figured this out, though I’m not completely sure its the correct step to take. About a 3 week old newcomer to Linux as a whole and decided to try out openSUSE. But I digress.
I simply just replaced config.(gnome or kde).iso to config.iso, so in essence, I just deleted the regular config.iso that unetbootin spits out and renamed the other file to said file name. Hope it works and someone who is more knowledgeable on the matter can step up and explain what happened.
