I have installed successfully a couple of times… But not today! I have a Gateway Solo 5300 384 MB RAM. openSUSE 11.1 on CD. When I attempt an install it seems to be successful (I watch the logging) then it comes to what I presume is the enter your options screen and the video scrambles. Then it cycles through what seems to be 3 scrambled screens. The first screen is always the same, the second screen is different each time.Any ideas?
What is you video card?
Installing from cd or DVD? If CD that is a bit short on memory.
Can you boot to a terminal
press 3 at the boot screen then continue the boot.
If it works log in as root and enter
sax2 -r -m 0=vesa (that is a zero)
enter
init 5
if GUI comes up exit and reboot that should do it. If you report the graphics card we may be able to help install the proper drivers.
