Install reboot problems

I can go through the entire install process, with 11.0. However, when the install sequence goes to the reboot step, the shutdown freezes. If I try to do a manual cold-start, I can’t get my server to correctly boot up.

My server is a dual Xeon, 2GHz, Quadcore. I have 4GB RAM, and onboard sata raid capabilities. when I install and create the partitions, I use SuSE’s software raid rather than the hardware raid. I do a swap, and root partition, and then create the large partion which mounts at /usr. I use two 1TB drives, connected to the onboard RAID as the OS. I used this “formula” on every Linux installation I’ve ever done, and haven’t had any trouble.

My server will also have an AMCC multi-lane raid controller with 16, 1TB drives in a multilane backplane.

Can anybody help me?
