I just downloaded OpenSUSE 11.4. After burning the iso and trying to install I get a “cannot exec bcedit.exe” error and the install fails. Has anyone else had this happen and what do I do now?
Welcome here. You have to boot your computer from it, did you do that?
How did you burn the iso to disk? As an image or as a file? The last option is not going to work.
Please provide as much information as possible about your openSUSE version, what you do to install, the machine you;re trying to install on

did you do this prior to beginning the install:
did you boot from the install disk, or did you autorun it while in
windows? do NOT do that, instead read the instructions on the download page:
How to Proceed
- After having successfully downloaded the ISO image(s), burn the
image(s) with your favorite burning application …- Boot from the DVD or CD. In case your computer does not automatically
boot from CD/DVD, open the BIOS setup to allow booting from CD or DVD.
and, above that “Boot from” on the download page is a discussion on how
to make sure you have a good install disk…

“cannot exec bcedit.exe”
Although the DVD allows you to install from within windows you should not do this, ALWAYS boot from the DVD or CD and install from there.
