install printer driver

I need instruction step by step to install driver for my canon LBP3000 on 11.1 x64 .
I never build and install printer driver from source

Go to yast | hardware | ptinters and add the printer there. If the model isn’t in the printer list, choose a similar model for now.
If the printer supports hplj, use one that uses this and it should print fine.
You can then look for drivers when you have the time.

There are already .rpm and .deb packages(as well as Source code) for CAPT by Canon. You can download it from Here](http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0031118.asp?model=) (and there is even a new version available, since it wasn’t updated for a year or so.)

Unfortunately no 64-bit binaries are available. On i586 machine it is very easy to get it working- install the packages, run /etc/init.d/ccpd start to activate the driver daemon, and the printer should be working, If you want GUI, type captstatusui -P LBP3000. But for 64-bit OS, you will have to compile it yourself.

I’ve found this Ubuntu guide where this is explained, it might help you.
