I’m starting to think that nothing on openSUSE that tries to connect to the internet will work. You see, in the midst of trying to get just Adobe Flash Player to install, I opened the package manager but of course got this error:
Download failed:
Download (curl) error for 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/repo/non-oss/content <cuts off here>
Error code: Connection failed
Error message: Couldn’t resolve host ‘download.opensuse.org’
Great. >:(
Obviously your browser is working!
We can work on this but you need to try and understand some basics about repo management. I’m with you in the flash thread and you seem to be struggling a little.
Where abouts in the world are you? Just general info will do. We can look at using mirrors for the repo’s.
Open software Repositories
Delete the three enabled repos and we are going to add them back from mirrors url’s.
Here is a link to repo management just in case you get stuck:
Repository Management - openSUSE Forums
So now you have deleted the OSS, NON-OSS and UPDATES
Click ADD.
Just click NEXT because we are using the URL method which is default.
Name= UPDATES
copy and paste this URL in the URL section
Index of /pub/opensuse/update/11.1
Now do the same for
OSS
Index of /pub/opensuse/distribution/11.1/repo/oss
NON-OSS
Index of /pub/opensuse/distribution/11.1/repo/non-oss
When done OK to finish the changes. Let us know what happens.
Everything went smoothly with redoing the repositories, and it’s working fine now, thanks!
WOW. Thanks for letting us know.
Enjoy SUSE;)
