Install option (and advice)

Hi,

I would like to install TW Slowroll on my Lenovo x270 laptop.
I have tried twice with two different results.

First install :
During the install, on the “Filesystem Options” step, I selected “Propose separate Home LVM Logic Volume” (XFS).
I also have enabled the Disk Encryption.

After the reboot, I had to enter the password before the openSuse boot menu shows.
At this step, the keyboard layout was not correct.

Second install :
Everything same except “Propose Separate Home LVM Logiccal Volum”.
It left it unchecked.

After the reboot, I first land on openSuse boot menu and then had to enter my password encryption.
Here, my keyboard layout was correct. I had to enter my encryption password on a nice screen splash with lenovo and Tumbleweed logo.

So, my question : what is the advantage of having a separate home LVM ?
I these something weird during my install or when this box in checked, it will lead to different system install and also will affect the boot order (and the keyboard layout) ?

Thank you.

No, it cannot be “same”. Show output of

lsblk -f

When I said “Everything same”, I mean, I followed the same installation process except the fact that I let this box unchecked.

I am sorry. I was not clear.
