Install openSUSE Leap on laptop and netbook

Im a migrator from the Ubuntu/Linux Mint projects and wanted to try something new for a change. So far I was able to install some programs I needed without a problem and i have noticed an overall performance / system response on opensuse compared to my previous setup… especially with running a virtual machine.

I did have a problem with vmware player but i scraped that idea and just went with virtualbox. vmware servvice was having a hard time starting even tho it compiled the kernel modules.

Oh i i decided to go with gnome 3 over KDE 5

Hi, WELCOME to OpenSUSE and to the Forum (and to Gnome3, by the way).
I had no problems with VMware Player with Leap, but frankly I did not see advantages to write home about comparing to VirtualBox, which is somewhat easier to setup in the OpenSUSE packaged version.
If you need VMware, feel free to ask for help in the Virtualization subforum, a few real experts are hanging there :wink:
