Hello I am trying to install OpenSUSE 12.2 on HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9. It gets to the point where it starts the installation. It only sees the iLO and does not see the Hdds.
I have 3 SSD’s in RAID0 using the Smart Array P440ar with 2GB FBWC.
I am able to install OpenSUSE 13.2, but I need to install the 12.2 version to get this server in HA with my other DB servers using Pacemaker-Openais.
Short version; 12.2’s hpsa driver doesn’t support P440ar and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Long version; you might be able to inject a newer version of the hpsa driver when booting from the installation media, however this would require compiling the new hpsa from HP sources against the 12.2’s installation kernel version and then replacing the one in the initrd or modprobing it manually during the installation or making a driver disk.
Because SUSE’s driver update disk system is a piece of ****, I haven’t bothered to craft a version for each distribution version as I only use 13.1 and 13.2 nowadays.
