While I was installing Opensuse 11.1 beta I received and grub error, it said it was minor so I continued on when the install finished and I rebooted I could’nt find the beta install. the only install I see in Grub is my opensuse 11 , I have two hard drives and I cannot figure out where I have installed the beta opensuse. how can I figure this out?

Boot any Suse that still works, even a live DVD [or even an install DVD choosing the “Rescue System” option]. When settled open a console and become root then execute the command: fdisk -l. That will show you where the Linux ext3 partitions are. You can mount those one by one and check inside them. The Suse version is located in the root partition at the location /etc/SuSE-release where “SuSE-release” is a text file containing the version number. That final bit of information should locate the 11.1 beta absolutely for you if “fdisk -l” doesn’t jog your memory.
