Hello, I’m brand new about Linux so please forgive me if I’m asking a stupid question. I have a laptop configured as follows:
SSD with two partitions (drive C and drive D) one with Windows 11 and the other with windows 10
SSD with data (drive E)
The laptop can boot in Win 11 and Win 10.
I would like to install Leap on drive D (the second partition on the primar SSD), I can delete all windows 10 that’s on it. I want to make sure to leave untouched Drive C and Drive E.
I kind of understand what the installation is telling me about the partitions, but I want to be sure to not damage anything.
Can you help me or give me a loink where I can find a detailed tutorial about this?
I thank you very much!!!
To be extra careful and make it easier for yourself, I would recommend having Win11 and Leap on separate SSDs, though what you’re suggesting is also possible and is described in the docs:
IMO, installing Windows and Linux on separate SSDs on a UEFI system produces more complication, thus not “easier”. Having Leap replace Win10 on your laptop should be a simple process of selecting the Win10 partition for replacement with Leap. Note that you’ll need to check the box to “Probe foreign OS” to include Win11 in your Leap’s boot menu.
