Install on new system has taken 4 hours now

It gets stuck downloading things. I have a 100Mbps internet connection. It was stuck at 21%, then 32%, now 59% downloading sac.
What can I do?

It could be that the mirror you are accessing is very busy. I would try a different mirror.
Edit your changes in Yast2. Don’t forget to refresh the cache.

Actually, when I do an install, I tell the installer to skip the updates during the install. You get that option at about the time it asks to test your connection.

I have, on many occasions, found that updating during install can cause problems.

After a successfull install, when I have rebooted into openSUSE and it is running okay, I then run the updates.

By any chance, do you happen to have IPv6 service?

I ask because when I last checked, the mirror selection was bad when using IPv6 (there’s an open bug report on this).
