Install on Mac Pro problems

Hi all,

looking for some help in what (should?) be a straight-forward triple-boot setup on a Mac Pro.

Currently, I have Leopard and XP Pro running on individual-dedicated drives. I need to install openSUSE on a 3rd dedicated drive.

All of the triple-boot how-to’s that I’ve been able to find are limited in their scope (assuming only one drive for all three systems, and installing all of them from the beginning)

I would prefer NOT to have to repartition and reinstall OSX and XP all over again… hopefully this is possible? Can someone point me to a how-to that I just haven’t seen?

thanks!
eric

This is not an ideal solution, but I accomplished what you’re asking by removing the OSX hard drive and the Windows hard drive and then running the opensuse installer withe the third drive still attached.

When it’s all done, put the two first drives back in and hold down the ‘alt/option’ key after you hear the mac noise on reboot. You’ll be given the option to boot Mac, Windows, or Windows lol!

The second windows option in the list will be your linux installation.

You can also use refit to have the system always present a boot menu so as to not have to hold the option key at each boot, but I found refit to be hacky/unstable.

just a advice from someone that have a mac pro , get another linux because theres no way that sound its going to work , i try everything but nothing worked , i think i am going for mandriva , good luck
