Welcome to the forums, first of all. So, now you’d need to provide us with a bit more information. What kind of system do you have? Do you want Linux as your only operating system? Do you want to dual boot with Windows?
Check out this sticky on the subject.
Enjoy the experience
hi,
um … opensuse and idk im kinda a noob here so idk if dual boot windows is good or is it let me know on that and I also need to know if my logitech wireless keyboard will work upon installation I havent found 1 inch of information about it … and I dont have any other keyboard or mouse … so its hard for me to know this … since I am a noob I just need help on all of this and if there was someone to call to talk to that would be … great and I need help someone teaching me the commands as well and I just hope … they have patience cause I am a slow learner and dont quite understand things very well I have a … learning disability so yea … anyways if anyone would help me out here I would greatly appreciate it.

As it happens I just did an install for someone with a Logitech Wireless Keyboard. I had to grab an old ps2.
Actually the keyboard works once you get past the boot screen. But as it is you can’t actually boot to install with it. And once you have installed, the keyboard works but still not at the Grub boot screen, so it is far from ideal. My friend who I was doing the install for just decided to buy a cheap ps2.
Here is an install guide written for 11.0
11.1 differs really only in the partitioner software

Hi,
I happen to have a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse. They’re part of the Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110. I’ve had no problems with it when installing using a livecd on my desktop computer. My desktop computer doesn’t have a dvd drive though so the livecd was my next option. I’m not so sure about installing with the DVD though so I would heed Caf’s warning and maybe get a cheap ps2.
Good Luck,
Ian
But, Ian: Can you actually use the keyboard at the boot screen? It didn’t work for me on the DVD, and the default boot on that is not ‘Installation’ but ‘Hard Drive’.
I guess the live CD might work
But what happens for you now at Grub, can you move the selection?
It just so happens I deleted my linux installation the other day to put windows on the bigger hard drive so I could use my tv tuner…unfortunately windows xp doesn’t like my desktop anymore so I was about to start on reinstalling linux. I’ll post back on that in a bit.
Ian
Yes,
You can use the keyboard at the boot screen. You can choose between KDE-Four-Live, Failsafe-KDE-Four-Live, Hard-Disk, and Memory Test. All of this before it’s installed right at the boot screen from the Livecd. I can move up and down on the options and choose any one of the options. I’m installing now. As my sig points out I only have 512mb on this so it’s going to take a while. The livecd might be the best option if he doesn’t have any other keyboard and mouse.
Ian
well does it work upon installation for opensuse?
Why not download a copy of the DVD and just try it to find out? If it doesn’t work, you can just grab a cheap PS/2 one and use that? People have already said above that it works on the LiveCD version anyway, which has an installer on it. I’d advise not using it on systems with less than 512MB of memory, it tends to just stop running.
Oh, and good luck
I have a Logitech DiNovo wireless keyboard and it has worked during installation for me for both OpenSUSE 10.2 and 11.0. The only problem I’ve found with it is that when you are typing something, it sends the first keypress twice if you haven’t typed anything for a while. For example: if you press ‘a’ it types ‘aa’; it only does this for the first keypress though. I assume it’s a bluetooth wake-up bug. Other than that, everything works like a charm using a wireless keyboard.
Oh,
That kind of wireless. Or any kind of wireless? Did you mean bluetooth? I mean just a wireless desktop (not bluetooth) like having a usb receiver and then wireless keyboard and mouse. That works fine during the installation and after the installation with a livecd. I have my desktop computer up and running again.
Good Luck,
Ian
