Install from HDD

Hello,

I have a computer that will NOT boot from external DVD/CD nor USB.

I MUST install linux distros by extracting the ISO image to a partition, and manually editting the grub menu.lst file to boot the live cd/dvd extracted image on HDD.

Can someone give me some instructions how to do this with SUSE??

Thanks.

That’s a dead link: Page not found.

Are you sure you cannot boot from any external media? I wouldn’t want it like that.

All this can be done, but it’s a complex process if you don’t have the machine by hand. I would see that it will boot from CD/DVD

It is possible. You need the full DVD iso. The last post in
this thread has the info you need.
